Members of the Tribe recently filmed with a crew from Voice of America
for their Indoensia channel. We filmed around the Bethesda area and had
a great afternoon and feel the story will be very positive! Vivit from
VOA was very cool and joined in the Primal Fitness class - she's seen
here learning how to do QM on a low wall. It was great working with
Ningrum and the whole crew - they've even signed up for some Parkour
training at Primal Fitness!

Sorry for the late post, but we've been going back and forth on scheduling this thing for a couple of weeks now! Either way, here's the specifics: Saturday July 5th 3:00pm-8:00pm Challenge: The Crossfit Total: 3 attempts at 1RM for each of the following lifts: Back Squat Deadlift Overhead Press The competition will be followed by grilling out back, so bring some covered side-dishes and beverages for the after-party, and feel free to bring family and friends to cheer you on and share in the fun! Last night we met with the Mount Vernon Square Neighborhood Association. The
meeting was very positive and they voted to back our request for a zoning
variance which is necessary to continue Primal's operation. They had two
requests which are quite reasonable - there are requests that men wear shirts
when jogging - why this is important or related to Primal Fitness I have no
idea. We will continue to be respectful and courteous neighbors while running -
now wear a shirt :) Primal shirts are on sale for the next two weeks - $15
(in-store only) - get one, wear it with pride!
The second request is more fun - our neighborhood does have a crime element
- if we modify our jogging route to include a few alleys (only when in groups)
this will let people know that our neighborhood is awake and aware which will
be a huge crime deterrent. We welcome our law enforcement clients to run locked
& loaded :)
As always please drop weights on double green mats and only when necessary.

At Primal we work very hard to give every one of our clients the attention they deserve. There's also a lot of other work that goes into running and maintaining the gym. For this reason we ask that you all check this reminder of our hours, and we appreciate your understanding that we can't except off-hours training.
M-F 6:30 AM CrossFit Class, 8:00 AM CrossFit Class. 9:00 - 11:00 AM Personal Training ONLY - gym closed to public and monthly members. 11:00-2:00PM Lunchtime workout for monthly / punchcard members. 2:00 - 5:00 Personal Training ONLY - closed to public and monthly members. 5:00PM and 6:00PM CrossFit Classes 7:00-8:00PM Parkour Class. 8:00-9:00 Tuesday and Thursday night Yoga. Saturday CrossFit workout at 9:00 - Parkour 10:00-12:00.
As a reminder, our personal training fees are $70 / hour ($80 / 2 people, $90 / 3 people) If you wish to train during the personal training times, these are our rates. Our rent and our workload dictate that we must adhere to these times. Thanks for your understanding!

This weekend 19 women from across the country descended on Primal
Fitness for a Parkour training seminar. Lead by Amanda Henry, the
coaches included Janine Cundy, Alissa Bratz, Laurie Jennifer with
assistance from Brittany Rouin. The women went through some very tough
conditioning sessions and many of the basic techniques, premises, and

As everyone around Primal knows, Christy kicks some serious ass when it comes to hard workouts. Luckily everybody else got to figure it out too when she placed 3rd overall in the Crossfit games at Albany Crossfit ! The day is finally here, after more than a year and a half of some kick-ass performances from our fellow primates, we've procured a whiteboard worthy of the PR's that have been rolling in lately! Any client who has done at least 3 benchmark workouts can get their name on the board, and will have their PR's updated as they happen for all to see. Here's to competitive motivation! This past week was Jeff Van Collins' 1st anniversarry of his start date at Primal. Jeff does CrossFit classes in the mornings, It's amazing what he's done in a year! Jeff has lost about 25 pounds and drastically changed his body composition - one year leaner and meaner, Jeff consistently posts impressive gains in strength and fitness. He's also left a lot of his trademark sweat pools.
